There were broken clouds this morning over the Tokyo metropolis, but the sky was clear as the sun set.
I walked around the Kabukicho district that is not far from my hotel this morning.
I could see from the trash on the streets that was getting cleaned up, that it must have been a wild Friday night.
Indeed, per tripadvisor.com: Kabukicho is Tokyo’s most famous entertainment and red-light district, located just north of Shinjuku Station’s East Exit. Nicknamed the “Sleepless Town” (Nemuranai-gai), the 36-hectare area is packed with neon-lit streets, restaurants, bars, and clubs that run around the clock.
The Tokyo batting cage nearby is one of the city’s top batting centers. Machines pitch the baseballs, and it is open into the wee hours of the morning as well.
I took the picture of Kabukicho Tower at dusk from my hotel room window (using panorama mode on my phone).
