Thursday/ bitter melon in my lunch

I still uncover new dishes in the cafeteria here at work.   I know mantou (in bowl at top) or Chinese steamed bun/bread.   It is made with milled wheat  flour, water and leavening agents.

The green in the scrambled egg dish is bitter melon (translated from Chinese: 苦瓜 kǔguā), a subtropical vine  of the family Cucurbitaceae, widely grown for its fruit, among the most bitter of all fruits but edible.   It also has medicinal properties.   So bite that bitter melon!  (It’s not that bitter and has a nice texture).   The second picture shows the whole fruits.
